Pet Matchmaker Introduces a New & Innovative Pet Adoption Service
by Denise Fus
Pet Matchmaker has introduced a unique and much needed business model for placing pets that are currently in shelters and rescue homes. The end result is producing a win-win situation for all involved.
CHICAGO, IL (PRWEB) March 24, 2005 -- Pet Matchmaker is a unique pet adoption service designed to assist individuals in finding their perfect pet. They are not a shelter nor do they sell pets. Rather, they work on behalf of their clients, and in conjunction with shelters and rescue groups, to match people and pets. Their initial screening process allows them to get to know each client and their needs. Pet Matchmaker then does all the research and leg work necessary to find a match based on their clients criteria.
The idea behind Pet Matchmaker can be attributed to its owner Denise Fus. Ive always had a big heart for animals and wanted to do my part. There is a huge problem with pet overpopulation for a variety of reasons. Many of these unwanted and lost pets end up in shelters and rescue homes. Our focus is to find these pets a good home and provide them with a second chance at a good life.
Because the shelters and rescue homes are severely over-crowded, Pet Matchmaker deals exclusively with these facilities and does not work with breeders or pet stores.
A large contributing factor to pets ending up in these facilities is lack of knowledge or planning by the individuals buying them. The most important aspect of our service is educating our clients about the pet they are about to adopt. Unfortunately, many pet purchases are an impulse decision. They see a cute puppy or kitten and theyre taken in. People do not thoroughly research the characteristics of the pet or plan into the future. Pet guardianship is an obligation that will last for the lifetime of the pet which often times can be 10 to 20 years.
To ensure they are creating the best match possible, Pet Matchmaker has built their philosophy around their core services: Personalized Screening, Research, Education, Networking, and Continued Support.
We cant save every pet that comes through the system, says Ms Fus. But if we each do our part, we can make a difference.
Due to the high volume of unwanted dogs, cats and ferrets Pet Matchmaker is only providing services for these animals at this time. In the near future, it is Pet Matchmaker's goal to provide services to all animals in need.
